Our forest is incredible! Since owning the farm, I have focused a lot of time into restoring and improving the health of the forest. We have planted over 7000 trees on the land, many of which have been planted as understory trees within the forest.

We harvest trees selectively based on their health. Referred to as the three D’s – Dead, Dying, and Diseased. We remove trees or limbs to enhance the growth potential of the forest.

Some larger dead trees are left in the forest as wildlife trees where they will provide habitat for hundreds of species for decades to come.

Harvested trees are processed into a myriad of products to maximize their value. These trees are converted into every thing from fine furniture and timber frame buildings to mulch for edible and medicinal mushrooms and firewood to heat all the buildings on the land.
