Michael Nickels has been actively pursuing Ecoforestry since 1980. Merve Wilkinson of Wildwood Forest on Vancouver Island was Michael’s teacher and mentor. He has also worked with and learned from many inspirational foresters from all over the world.
He has been involved in every aspect of forestry as a nurseryman, tree planter, tree planting contractor, road designer, faller, miller timber framer, furniture maker, consultant and teacher.
Michael has consulted in Asia, Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, North America, South America and Central America. He has designed and installed new forests as well as helped clients design regenerative and profitable forest operations
Michael consults with clients to personally teach forest health and profitability in mind, thinking outside of the box to help clients create resilient forests designed for an ever changing climate.
